Catch up with the Green Umbrella Marketing Team as we talk about what's new in social media this week and what we've all been up to lately.
This week, Jane has completed couch to 5k, Christina is fed up of people getting popular sayings wrong and Mark and Amanda are excited about the Lions Rugby tour in South Africa next year.
Here are the snippets:
- What's new in Linkedin. Is it becoming more like Facebook? (5:30)
- Linkedin is getting more personal. People are sharing their stories more and sometimes that can really work well for you. (13:00)
- Streaming to multiple platforms at once using Streamyard (15:10)
- How do you get the most out of a great piece of content? You've created a great live stream, what opportunities do you have to repurpose it on other platforms? (18:30)
- Teasing people ahead of a big event using social media and email drip campaigns. The Rugby Lions tour was a great example of keeping the audience interested while in lockdown and then building up the excitement ahead of the announcement of the tour. (19:35)
- Using AIDA and back to basics marketing. There is so much uncertainty around at the moment that perhaps the basics are needed to draw people back in. Finding out what people need and keeping your marketing slow and measured as we come out of lockdown so you don't spam people. They will only buy when they are ready. (24:00)
- TikTok - who uses it, who is it aimed at and why you should consider it for your business (30:25)
- TikTok ban in certain countries is speeding up the release of competitor platforms such as Reels (35:15)

Paul Green | Successful Networking Tips | Live Lunch
Tuesday Jun 30, 2020
Tuesday Jun 30, 2020
Paul Green from The Business Community, a networking group operating across the Northamptonshire/Milton Keynes area, joins us for this Live Lunch episode.
Paul has run multiple face to face Networking meetings in our area from Breakfast meetings to evening Soirees and in the wake of the lockdown, BusComm meetings have continued to grow with roaring success. As an old hand in business networking and a regular commentator on Live Lunch we thought we'd pick his brains on how best to approach networking opportunities.
Here are the Snippets :
- Describe your business in three words - get other people to do it too and find out how you are perceived
- Creating your business's story and values and being personable and real to created stronger connections to your business
- Referrals - These are so important for your business. Nurture them, as it takes time to build trust. Don't expect things to happen straight away, when it comes to networking you need to be in it for the long game.
- Social media content has become more authentic since the lockdown. It's less polished and more personal. People buy from people, so putting a bit of yourself into your social media is important. Letting people see the real you builds trust and community and has the added benefit of deepening your connections.
