Welcome to Live Lunch!
This week it was just the GU crew, and we talked about Linkedin changes, marketing, print and design, branding and getting the tone right for our clients.
Here are the snippets:
- Linkedin changes to company pages
- Linkedin advertising vs Facebook advertising
- Print and design. Now people are going back to offices, the demand for business cards, leaflets, etc. is going up.
- What is a good design brief, and how to you get what you need from clients?
- Converting suspects to prospects. It takes around 12-13 touchpoints for someone to use your services or buy your product
- It's important that your printed material matches to quality of your other marketing. Cheap paper doesn't say 'high-level service'
- When we do work for our clients, we need to "become them", we need to match their values and their tone in everything we say on their behalf
- Marketing takes time. You can't just expect people to buy from you immediately, you need to nuture them, understand their needs and offer them value.
- It's really important to review with clients regularly. Has their message changed, has their ideal client changed, are they attracting a different audience?
- Ways of marketing to people change depending on the time of day, the time of year, and even the weather.

Welcome to this episode of the Social Snippet Show!
It's just the Green Umbrella team this week, and we're talking about what's happened in the social media world over the last couple of weeks, what's new, what's being testing and what's being glitchy!
Here are the snippets:
- Using Streamyard for going live in multiple places. Plus how you can customise it for your brand.
- You can now pin up to 3 comments on Instagram. This is great as an engagement tool, and could be used for things such as competitions
- Instagram carousels are getting more traction than single images and can be used in various ways.
- Voice messages on Linkedin - These are getting more and more popular and are a great way to stay in touch with people.
- Audio is really big right now, and we're seeing a rise in podcasts again.
- Using Loom videos is a great way to send a little how-to video to someone.
- Facebook Creator Studio - what you can do with it and how it can help you plan your social strategy
- Facebook pages feed! Where has it gone and what else is glitchy at the moment.
- Glitches mean we need to have a strategy outside of social media, for when you can't rely on it working properly
- There has been a brilliant government publication about keeping your social media and online presence accessible. Using hashtags correctly, the right emojis, alt-tags on images, etc. It's worth going back to your website and making sure you have alt-tags on all of your images
- Make sure you do a mini audit of all of your social media headers and avatars. Image sizes change frequently, so what fitted a while back, might not fit now.
- Kindness diaries - drop a random note, text or voice message to someone you haven't seen for a while and check in with them.
